Lol somebody on the stack told a joke about an owl the other day and my response was simply, "who?" ... so they responded "the owl." I replied "who?" This went on a couple more times before they either gave up or finally realized I was playing a meta joke on them lol ... good times.
Reading this felt like stepping into a strange but familiar dream.😌
The story flips between real and surreal, yet the ideas about imagination, love, and self-forgiveness are surprisingly relatable; reminders to stay present and not be too hard on oneself.🤙🏻
I love how this piece dances between humor and sincerity without losing its footing. It is
joyfully unrestrained—like a song that knows it’s winking at you while still meaning every word. The pop‑culture mashups, mythic voice, and playful metaphysics give it a buoyant rhythm that carries big ideas lightly: forgiveness, imagination, love as the animating force. The refrain about love filling the cup lands with warmth after all that glittering motion, and the ending feels like a curtain call that invites the reader to dream right along with you.
Thx a millions! What a thoughtful response. You know, I posted this on FB and got crickets. Then I posted a meme about cats and all of a sudden I'm a god among men ;)
I have never seen this movie, but this was cute!
The NeverEnding Story is amazing!!! Truly one of a kind. Similar to fantasies like Krull, Legend, Labyrinth and the best of all The Princess Bride.
If you didn’t say “The Princess Bride” I wouldn’t have seen any of those either 😅 apparently I am uncultured
Well that's the only one that really matters, so apparently you just have good taste.
If you like David Bowie in super tight pants, he's one of the main rolls in Labyrinth. Did I mention he's in tight pants?
Oh I’ve seen a scene from that one at least.
“The babe with the power”
“What power?”
“The power of voodoo”
“Who-do?”
“Do what?”
“Remind me of the babe.”

Love it. "But I can't do Falcor, you gotta switch back." Hehe gold
Haha here's the extended editors cut:
[Heard off camera]
But I can’t do Falcor. You gotta switch back.
Sure, you can be Zooey Deschanel.
I like you the way you are, but HELL yeah! ;)
One of my favorite movies!
wow, magnificient. Why don't you open a youtube or insta where you can do voice overs for these poems with videos.
That a good idea. I have YouTube for our family films, but should do more with it. I posted this song on the stack a couple weeks ago ...

It's a neverending story 🎵🎶
This was amazing. I love the cadence.
I came for the near-death poem and stayed for the cosmic rom-com energy. Somehow hilarious and sincere. That’s not easy to pull off.

I'm trying to put it to a tune.
I was getting Celine Dion.
Power ballad shit.
Whatever you do, don't have AI turn it into a Celine Dion power ballad lol
Beautiful ❤️
What a beautiful, vivid way to capture life’s twists and turns.
Your words remind us to embrace imagination, love, and the moments that make us feel fully alive. Thank you for sharing this.
Just belting this song now!!! “Reach the stars… fly a fantasyyyyyyyy”
“Heard off camera… I can’t do falcor“ 🤣🤣💀💀
Funny of course, because that’s you, but you hit deep. “Well of course there’s a hell
It’s all in your head
Those who don’t forgive themselves
Die before they’re dead.”
Well done, sir!
I took this part out, but I’ll give you the editor’s cut:

Sure, you can be Zooey Deschanel if you want.
I like you just the way you are, but HELL yeah!
My wife knows Zooey is on the list, so it's cool.
I'm dead!! 😂

God among men, just not among cats!
I admire your brilliance. I couldn’t love this piece more than I do now.
